The New York Sun ceased publication today. On one hand, its certainly somewhat of a loss to the dance world, given that they did have good coverage of dance. On the other hand, given that more than 80% of their total circulation was free distribution to households, many of which, I’m guessing, were like mine, in that they neither wanted nor asked for the paper to show up on their doorstop, and redistributed their editions straight to the recycling bin, we can probably breathe a sigh of relief knowing that a few less trees are dying every day.
If a newspaper falls in the city, and no one cares to read it, does it make a sound?
